Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to protect client sites in Ontario with a focus on access control, CCTV monitoring, and patrolling. The role emphasizes reliability, professional appearance, and strong customer service while maintaining safety standards across assigned sites in Hamilton and surrounding areas.

The position requires working on-site with flexible hours and a commitment to high-quality service for clients and employees.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have WSIB-accredited First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Must be able to obtain Reliability (Level I) Security clearance (Canada resident 5+ years, clean record and credit).

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Monitor CCTV cameras
• Maintain positive attitude and professional relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Regular interior and exterior patrols
• Other duties as required by the client or site supervisor

INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured


• Monitor CCTV cameras


• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients


• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports


• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment


• Maintain effective communication

• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• *MUST*Have the ability to obtain Reliability (Level I) Security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean criminal record, clean credit history)
