Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to join our security team in Hamilton, Ontario. The role involves patrolling client facilities, verifying valid credentials, and enforcing the Trespass to Property Act as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License, must obtain Use of Force authorization, and be able to obtain Level I (Reliability) clearance. Training provided; shift is Mon-Fri 1500–2300 with opportunities to adapt as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the security of the facility.
• Conduct property patrols of client location, per site instructions.
• Check and validate identification credentials for visitors and personnel entering the facility.
• Enforce the Trespass to Property Act when required.
• Liaise with Police, Fire, EMS as appropriate during incidents.
• Complete patrol and incident reports using reporting software and paper reports as required.
• Maintain professionalism at all times in all interactions.
• Perform end-of-shift security procedures, including locking gates and verifying premises security.
• Undertake all training assigned in a timely fashion.
• Report concerns or complaints to Supervisor.
• Be available to adjust schedule as required to accommodate patrol team needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by Client or Manager.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Responsible for the security of the facility.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• *Mandatory* - Must be able to obtain Use of Force.
• *Mandatory *-Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• *Mandatory– Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
• *Mandatory– Must be able to obtain a Level I (Reliability) Clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
• Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time.
• Strong customer service/administrative skills

• Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.54 (after use of force completion)
• Hours of work: Mon-Friday 1500-2300
