Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to join our security team at CFB Borden Gates. The role involves managing access control, operating gate arms during night hours, and performing ID checks while ensuring client property safety and orderly site operations.

The successful candidate will have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, an Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (resident in Canada 10+ years, clean record).

Responsabilidades

• Enforce access control policies and protect client property.
• Lower/raise gate arms between 2100hrs and 0600hrs daily.
• Perform Peak Period ID checks as required.
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, visitors and clients.
• Complete site reporting, daily logs and written reports.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and deportment.
• Maintain effective communication at all times.
• Uphold professionalism in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as directed by client or site supervisor.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Guards are responsible for lowering and raising gate arms between 2100hrs to 0600hrs daily.
• Peak Period ID Checks are completed randomly
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• Security Clearance Requirement: Reliable upgradeable to Secret
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to drag a 30kg barrier, 5m distance

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU

• Start Date: Immediately
• Job type: Full-Time
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.82 per hour
• Hours of work: 12hr shift during the week and weekends 0600hrs to 1800hrs
• Location: CFB Borden Gates (South Gate, Alliston;West Gate, Lisle,North Gate, Angus)
