Sector Lead - Construction Disputes Maxim Recruitment•Kent

The successful candidate will manage construction claims and complex adjudications involving Tier 1 and 2 contractors and specialist subcontractors. The work will involve collaborating closely with solicitors and clients on a range of dispute resolution assignments across the construction and engineering sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Sector Lead for the Construction Disputes division will:

  • Lead a growing team delivering high-quality construction dispute resolution services; Manage complex claims and adjudication
  • Provide strategic contractual and commercial advice to clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute
  • Oversee client relationships with Tier 1 and 2 contractors, specialist subcontractors, and legal advisors/ solicitors
  • Develop and implement business development and marketing strategies to expand the disputes practice
  • Contribute to company leadership and sector strategy within construction disputes
  • Support recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior staff where required
Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in quantity surveying and experience working with standard forms of contracts such as NEC.
  • Significant experience working on construction claims and adjudications
  • Well connected in the construction industry
  • Proven leadership and business development capability
  • Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and dispute resolution procedures
  • Excellent client-facing and networking skills
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar discipline (essential)
  • LLM in Construction Law or similar (preferred)
  • Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body (preferred)
