Overview

SAP Data Architecture Leader

Location: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver (Canada).

Capgemini Canada is seeking a dynamic and experienced SAP Data Architecture Technical Leader to spearhead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge data solutions. In this strategic role, you will act as a key bridge between business objectives and technological innovation, harnessing emerging technologies to deliver impactful, transformative results. This position offers a balanced mix of responsibilities — 50% focused on go-to-market strategy and client engagement, and 50% dedicated to overseeing technical delivery. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of SAP data architectures and data solutions across SAP landscapes (e.g., S/4HANA) with a focus on data migration, analytics, and governance.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate objectives into actionable data architecture and implementation plans.
• Balance pre-sales/go-to-market activities with hands-on technical delivery and leadership of data teams.
• Mentor junior architects and drive cross-functional collaboration across delivery teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Selective Data Transition (SDT) Expertise: Hands-on experience with SDT methodologies, including data carve-outs, harmonization, and consolidation.
• Project Delivery: Proven track record of delivering at least three greenfield SAP implementations and one SDT project.
• SAP Data Strategy: Deep experience in defining and executing SAP data migration and analytics strategies, particularly within SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Tool Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of data migration tools such as SAP Data Services (BODS), Syniti, SNP, CBS, Natuvion, or comparable platforms.
• Analytics Tools: Expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Analysis for Office (AFO), and Embedded Analytics for real-time insights and reporting.
• ETL & Data Quality: Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data profiling, cleansing, and data quality management across complex SAP landscapes.
• Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance and stewardship tools such as SAP Information Steward or equivalent platforms.
• Cloud & Integration: Understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and experience with hybrid or cloud-based data integration scenarios (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Data Architecture & Modeling: Proficiency in enterprise data architecture, data modeling (e.g., CDS Views, HANA Calculation Views), and data lineage practices.
• Security & Compliance: Awareness of data privacy, compliance (e.g., GDPR), and security best practices in SAP environments.
• Pre-Sales & Solutioning: Experience in preparing RFP responses, designing data solutions, and contributing to pre-sales and go-to-market activities.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead data teams, mentor junior architects, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills to effectively balance delivery responsibilities with pre-sales and strategic initiatives.
