Job summary

Once Upon A Child Markham is seeking a hands-on store manager to lead daily operations at our Markham, Ontario location. You will supervise staff, schedule and assign duties, locate and procure merchandise for resale, and ensure excellent customer service.

The role requires strong organizational and financial skills, budget planning, payroll oversight, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a positive, team-focused workplace.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control daily operations
• Evaluate daily operations
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Manage staff and assign duties
• Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale
• Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses
• Determine staffing requirements
• Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
• Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers
• Oversee payroll administration
• Conduct performance reviews
• Supervise office and volunteer staff
