Job summary

Dollarama in Val-d’Or, Canada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations, customer satisfaction and achieving sales goals. Acts as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager’s absence.

The role entails leading and coaching staff, assisting with merchandising, cash handling, and ensuring safety and cleanliness while maintaining strong customer service and sales focus.

Qualifications

• Two years retail experience.
• Two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Helping with merchandising, stocking, and unpacking daily shipments.
• Providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues.
• Training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Assigning tasks to the team and ensuring store safety and cleanliness.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards.
• Responsible for hiring and performance management.
