Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Edmonton. Under supervision of a Staff Nurse, you will deliver safe, compassionate basic care and support to residents according to care plans.

Responsibilities include bathing, transfers, feeding, medications assistance, and assisting residents with activities and mobility to promote comfort and quality of life. We value inclusivity and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate (2002 or greater) or equivalent education.
• Active registration with the CLHA.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents ensuring comfort and water temp control.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using lifts and belts.
• Feed/assist with meals and nourishments per care plan.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to move around the facility and attend activities.
• Help residents to dining rooms and accompany to social/therapy events.
