Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Staff Nurse to deliver safe, respectful resident care, including bathing, transfers, feeding, and assisting with daily activities.

Applicants should have a PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent, be fluent in English, and have at least one year of experience in continuing care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents to promote comfort and well-being.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed and chair using lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed/assist with meals and snacks according to care plans.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of a staff nurse.
• Assist residents to travel around the facility and attend activities.
• Support residents to dining rooms and social/therapy functions.
