AgeCare Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and meal support under the supervision of a Staff Nurse.

You will help implement care plans, support residents during transfers, meals, and activities, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment. We value teamwork and compassionate care for our aging residents.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP and water temp procedures.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed and assist with meals and nourishment times.
• Refer to care plan for appropriate diet.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel around the facility and to dining areas.
• Support mobility using walkers, wheelchairs, or other positioning chairs.
• Accompany residents to beauty parlor, physiotherapy and recreation activities.
• Support residents to participate in social and therapy functions within the facility.
