Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join the care team in our Calgary-area facility.

Under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will deliver a wide range of basic resident care and support services in a respectful, home-like environment. Responsibilities include bathing, transfers, meals, skin care, and assisting residents to and from activities, with emphasis on safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Must be fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Certificate in PCA/HCA or equivalent education is required or asset.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents per personal care plan and temperature controls.
• Assist with transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed and assist residents during meals; refer to care plan for diet.
• Provide routine skin care and bowel protocols under nurse guidance.
• Assist residents to move around the facility and attend activities.
• Support mobility with walkers, wheelchairs, and positioning chairs.
• Escort residents to beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation sessions.
• accompany residents to social and therapy events; always use transfer belt.
