AgeCare is hiring a Health Care Aide (HCA) in Edmonton, Alberta. As part of the care team, you will deliver resident care under supervision of a Staff Nurse, performing a broad range of basic tasks to promote comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate course or equivalent education.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to care plans.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed and to wheelchairs or toilets.
• Feed and assist with meals and nourishment as per dietary plans.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility.
• Assist to and from the Dining Room for meals.
• Accompany residents to beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation activities.
• Attend social and therapy functions with residents.
