Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Edmonton. The role involves assisting with basic resident care under the supervision of a Staff Nurse and ensuring safe, thorough care that meets individual needs.

Applicants should have an HCA/PCA certificate, be registered with CLHA, and be fluent in English. Prior experience in continuing care is preferred; post-secondary education is an asset. AgeCare offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate (2002 or greater) or equivalent.
• Active registration with CLHA Alberta.

Responsibilities

• Bathing, showering and personal care per resident plan.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and equipment with safety protocols.
• Assist with feeding and nourishment according to care plans.
• Provide routine treatments under supervision of a nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and moving around the facility.
• Support residents to dining areas and social/therapy activities.
• Accompany residents to beauty parlor, physio and recreation activities.
• Support residents at social and therapy events within the facility.
