A children’s choral organization in Toronto seeks enthusiastic individuals for the 2025-2026 season. Responsibilities include attending rehearsals, assisting choristers, and ensuring a friendly environment. Candidates must have experience with children and strong organizational skills. This role offers competitive compensation of $20/hour.
About us: The national award-winning Bach Children’s Chorus (BCC) is a leader in choral musicianship training for children and youth from JK to post-secondary. As an established organization entering its 39th season, the BCC continues to set the highest standards of musical literacy and education for community choirs. Rehearsals take place on Sundays and Mondays near Kingston Road & Eglinton in Scarborough, from September to May.
Responsibilities:
● attend all scheduled rehearsals and events of the assigned choir(s) for the 2025-2026 season
● undertake the set-up and take-down of the rehearsal space (chairs, tables, equipment, etc.)
● greet choristers as they arrive, assisting with attendance and finding their seats
● assist choristers in using printed materials and staying focused on the rehearsal
● assist with all areas of running a safe, friendly and successful rehearsal, building a positive relationship with the artistic and admin team, as well as with the choristers and their families
Compensation: $20/hour
Job Requirements:
● experience working with children and youth in an educational or recreational setting
● demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
● ability to work independently and think critically to solve challenges
● collaborative, positive and enthusiastic attitude
● own vehicle and/or the ability to travel to our Scarborough rehearsal site
