VON Canada is seeking a Visiting Nurse to deliver holistic, person-centered care in clients' homes, clinics, and virtual settings. You will work across age groups, supporting families and community health initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform client assessments in home or clinic settings.
• Provide primary nursing care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Provide wound care and wound management.
• Manage chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes) with education and coaching.
• Collect specimens as required.
• Deliver rehabilitative nursing programs and palliative care.
• Contribute to patient and family education and support.

Our Visiting nurses provide client care in the client’s own home. They provide physical assessments, symptom control support, palliative care, rehabilitation therapy, wound care, education, counselling to individuals and families and much more.

What we're looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Practical Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Working conditions and physical demands:

This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
