Job summary

VON Canada is seeking registered nurses to provide holistic, client-centered care in home and community settings, including clinics and virtual care. You’ll work with diverse populations and engage families while maintaining high standards of safety and compassion.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and proof of vehicle insurance.
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; Vulnerable Sector Search may be necessary.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Assess clients to develop individualized care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Perform wound care, including simple and complex and negative pressure wounds.
• Manage chronic diseases, e.g., diabetes care and education.
• Administer IV therapy and manage CVADs.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection and participate in dialysis management.
• Deliver rehabilitative programs and palliative/end-of-life care.
• Oversee medication management and educate families as needed.

Our Visiting nurses provide client care in the client’s own home. They provide physical assessments, symptom control support, palliative care, rehabilitation therapy, wound care, education, counselling to individuals and families and much more.
