Job summary

WeeCare is seeking a Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse in Fergus, ON to support children in school and home settings. You will provide nursing care, comfort, and family-centered support, while adhering to care plans and safety protocols.

Key duties include tube and seizure care, medication administration per CNO standards, and documenting care and changes in condition. We value flexible scheduling and a collaborative management team.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Provide seizure care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards.
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family.

Position

Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse in Fergus, ON.

Schedule

• Thursday & Friday: 06:45-20:30
• Saturday: 07:00-15:00, as needed

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Demonstrate understanding of the child's needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child's equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child's safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
