Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care is seeking a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to provide in-home care for a child in Dundas, ON. The role emphasizes consistent, compassionate nursing support for the child and family within a home setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration, tube care, daily living support, and careful documentation, with a focus on safety, stability, and continuity of care for the child’s development and comfort.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) within past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications per plan and CNO standards.
• Monitor and safeguard medications and narcotics.
• Maintain child records and documentation per CNO standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Observe and report changes to parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and adaptive aids.
• Support child’s developmental needs and family well-being.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of environment and equipment.

Position

Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Dundas, ON.

Schedule

• Monday & Wednesday, 17:00–22:00 (flexibility to add Tuesday & Thursday as well)

Assignment Dates

• October 19–November 13, 2026

Please note:To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

General Duties

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child's safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements
