Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care is seeking a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to support pediatric clients in home environments in Saint George, ON. The role focuses on comfort, care plan adherence, and family-centered reassurance, becoming a trusted extension of the child and family.

The position requires pediatric care experience, CNO licensure, BLS, and VSC within the past six months. Evening night shifts Thursdays and alternating Fridays offer flexible scheduling with a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO standards.
• Monitor and ensure safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child’s records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child’s condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family.
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, including equipment and belongings.
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to safety, incidents, or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Thursday and every other Friday, 22:30–08:30

General Duties

Requirements
