Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Barrie, ON is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse to provide in-home care per a care plan, ensuring safety, comfort and family support. You will be an in-home extension for the client and family.

Responsibilities include G/GJ tube care, medication administration and documentation, personal care, and collaboration with families to maximize the child’s abilities. A consistent weekly schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing.
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards.
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family.
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings.
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Casual shifts; 19:00–08:00
