Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Ontario seeks a Registered Nurse for pediatric home care in St. George. You will build trusting relationships with children and families, deliver care per care plans, and support functional development in familiar home settings.

This role requires CNO licensure in good standing, pediatric experience, BLS, VSC, and PLI. Night schedule Thu and alternating Fri, 22:30–08:30, with a commitment to a consistent weekly pattern and excellent patient- and

Qualifications

• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards.
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards.
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids.
• Demonstrate understanding of the child's needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family.
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child's equipment and belongings.

Schedule

• Thursday and every other Friday, 22:30-08:30

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child's safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
