A regional health authority in Canada is seeking a Recovery Support Worker to join the Mental Health and Substance Use Access Central team in Kelowna. The role involves supporting individuals in their recovery journey, providing coaching, and facilitating transitions across various care services. We are currently looking for a permanent full time Recovery Support Worker to join the Mental Health and Substance Use Access Central team based out of the Kelowna Community Health & Services centre in Kelowna, B.C.

The Recovery Support Worker supports Access Central, which is a new regional virtual service delivered by a centralized interdisciplinary team based in Kelowna. These positions will support the continuum of care in a centralized, regional, coordinated access to substance use bed‑based services, including treatment, transition and stabilization, and supportive recovery.
The Recovery Support Worker uses their knowledge of mental health and substance use, harm reduction, and recovery‑oriented system of care to assist individuals throughout their recovery journey. The Recovery Support Worker works in partnership with the person, caregiver/family, and interdisciplinary care team to provide coaching, mentoring, information, coordination, and support services for people seeking addiction treatment, transition, and aftercare supports in accordance with an established personalized care plan.
As an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, the Recovery Support Worker facilitates individuals in transitioning across the continuum of care, including inpatient (bed‑based) or outpatient (at home or community‑based) services, withdrawal management and stabilization, and community aftercare supports. As the person and care team delineate various treatment and support needs, the Recovery Support Worker assists in identifying and working through the steps for success, walking alongside the person in the delivery of seamless addiction treatment, transition, and aftercare supports.
Shift times are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
