Job description

We are looking for a Project Manager to manage projects that execute product roadmaps and commitments for DECIEM’s product development lifecycle, from research and development to product launch.

This hybrid role will be based at our Toronto head office.

This is a 12-month contract position.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
  • Manage the product development lifecycle by working with cross-functional teams (Scientific, Production, Supply Chain, Brand, Commercial, Finance, Learning and Development, etc.)
  • Plan and develop scope, deliverables, resource requirements, work plan, budget, and timelines for new and existing products.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to project scope and product budget.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for questions, requests, or updates from cross-functional teams regarding scope, timeline, resources, and budget, and communicate or escalate as appropriate.
  • Communicate project expectations clearly and timely to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all teams understand their responsibilities and deadlines for deliverables.
  • Create detailed action plans for major projects with manageable steps and timelines.
  • Review projects systematically to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to specifications, achieving project benefits.
  • Apply consistent project management processes, including planning, risk management, financial oversight, resourcing, and communication.
  • Implement appropriate project management methodologies based on project nature.
  • Manage projects related to continuous operational improvements in the product development lifecycle.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of DECIEM’s business practices, processes, and operations.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments’ project managers to facilitate communication across teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include product development functions.
  • Exhibit strong self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and stakeholder management skills.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • 5+ years of people management and/or leadership experience in the cosmetic industry (must understand the fundamentals of a product launch process).
  • Relevant education or equivalent work experience in IT, Business, Science, or Project Management related to product development and launch in cosmetics or CPG industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, MS Project, Google tools, Wrike, Lucid Charts, and familiarity with Agile project management approaches.
  • Strong word processing and spreadsheet skills using MS Office and Google Docs.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, detail-oriented, capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
