Qualifications

• MPH, MHSc, or MSc in Quality Improvement, Health Quality or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years related experience required.
• Experience in quality improvement required.
• Experience working with external stakeholders across multiple institutions and across at least one province required.
• Excellent written communication skills and superior organizational skills.

Job description

Choosing Wisely Canada (CWC) is a national campaign for reducing unnecessary tests and treatments in health care. CWC inspires and engages health care professionals to take leadership in reducing unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures, and enables them with simple tools and resources that make it easier to choose wisely.

CWC is currently looking for a Project Manager . This role will provide leadership and management for Choosing Wisely Canada’s national projects, including the design, planning, coordination, and implementation of initiatives, as well as overseeing communication and engagement with diverse stakeholder groups.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducting needs assessments to facilitate defining project scope, goals, plans, deliverables, schedules/timelines
• Researching and analyzing best practices and other relevant initiatives to support large scale project proposal development
• Developing and managing the execution of project plans, and other strategies to advance CWC priorities
• Monitoring and evaluating project progress, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies, and resolving issues as they arise
• Understanding the priorities of national and provincial stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Collaborating with clinical leads to establish project goals and timelines and managing the execution of identified priorities.
• Fostering alignment across diverse stakeholder groups to ensure project deliverables support national campaigns and strategic resource stewardship priorities.
• Synthesizing partner insights and system data to proactively identify opportunities for growth, risk mitigation, and the reduction of unnecessary tests and treatments.
• Working closely with clinical leads, and other partners to strategically design, evaluate, and scale implementation frameworks that drive sustainable practice change.
• Independent strategic assessment of potential foci for CWC work including relevant risks, benefits, challenges, and opportunities
• Developing tools and resources to support practice change and quality improvement
• Designing and pre-testing measurement tools
• Designing data collection methods to track Canada-wide Choosing Wisley implementation efforts
• Analyzing national data to identify common challenges
• Reviewing and analyzing data to identify common challenges and solutions, and to inform the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards related to all aspects of the Choosing Wisely program.
• Preparing communication materials, reports and presentations
• Working with the business manager to advise on budgets for the implementation efforts

Qualifications

• MPH, MHSc, or MSc in Quality Improvement, Health Quality or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years related experience required
• Experience in quality improvement required
• Experience working with external stakeholders across multiple institutions and across at least one province (e.g. hospitals, government, etc.) required
• Excellent written communication skills are necessary
• Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload
• Ability to take initiative and lead a diverse group of individuals
