A leading educational institution in Canada is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the Atlantic Canada BioChar project. The successful applicant will ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget while coordinating with various teams. A Master’s degree and lab experience are required along with strong communication skills. This position offers a salary ranging from $64,361 to $87,763 per annum.
The Hibernia and Hebron Research & Development initiative encompasses a new portfolio of projects in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Additive Manufacturing, Sustainability, and Subsurface Prediction and is administered by Research Initiatives & Services (RIS). One project, the Atlantic Canada BioChar project, aims to develop waste biomass-based adsorbents (biochar) to capture carbon from point sources (engine stacks, vents, etc.) and then use the carbon-loaded biochars to replace non-renewable components in construction materials. The strategy is a cradle-to-cradle approach in greenhouse gas management, where the waste from one industry is used to treat another's waste and then stored in a useful, carbon-fixed product. The Project Manager will help ensure that the project meets projected milestones in a timely manner within the allocated budget, and that internal and external reporting requirements are met. To do so, the successful applicant will work closely with the Co-Investigators and project team, RIS, Technical Services, Facilities Management and other support units, Energy Research & Innovation (ERI), the project Advisory Committee, industry partners, and vendors.
