Job description

Are you ready to take your career to the next level and work with one of Canada’s largest environmental remediation and decommissioning firms? QM Environmental is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage exciting and impactful projects.

Location:

Lambton Shores, ON (Sarnia, ON)

Contract Duration:

4 - 6 months

What You Will Do:
  1. Project Execution:
    • Oversee construction tasks from an environmental perspective on-site during working hours.
    • Manage dust prevention, erosion controls, and environmental monitoring at excavation sites.
    • Coordinate with site supervisors and consultants to resolve environmental issues according to the Environmental Protection Plan.
    • Maintain environmental inspection logs and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet financial targets.
    • Handle billing, purchase orders, and site documentation, including safety permits.
    • Oversee project data, employee hours, and compliance with safety programs.
  2. Client Relationships and Business Development:
    • Maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
    • Assist with bids, RFPs, RFQs, and cost estimates.
    • Collaborate to secure new projects and support company growth.
  3. Health & Safety:
    • Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards and safety policies.
    • Create a proactive safe work environment.
What You Bring:
  • At least 1 year of project coordination experience, including co-op.
  • Experience in construction estimating and environmental site assessments.
  • Knowledge of remediation, contaminated sites, and environmental laws.
  • Experience managing full project lifecycles, resources, contracts, and budgets.
  • Ability to analyze complex environmental challenges, especially marine or contaminated land projects.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and financial systems.
Education/Certifications:
  • Degree or diploma in earth sciences, environmental science, or engineering (preferred).
  • Certifications like Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineer are assets but not required.
