Position Summary

As a Project Accountant, you will be integral to our project teams, providing high-level accounting support that ensures financial accuracy and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers and Coordinators to manage project finances from initiation to close, ensuring all financial processes adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and lead the accounting team in handling routine and project-specific financial tasks, including ad-hoc financial requests and providing vacation coverage.
  • Manage project budgets, including setup, invoicing, financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting, and project closeout.
  • Support Project Managers with project documentation, financial analysis, and other requests as necessary.
  • Coordinate quarterly forecasting and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee the year-end audit processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Address and resolve financial discrepancies and provide strategic financial insights to project teams.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience; construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Viewpoint preferred)
  • Key Traits: Detail-oriented, strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across teams.
