BGC Okanagan is hiring a Program Coordinator to lead our School-Aged Child Care Program at the Hudson Road Club. As a Program Coordinator, you’ll lead a vibrant team of After School Care staff in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children ages 5–12. You’ll be responsible for planning, preparing, and facilitating the After School Program while also managing administrative tasks during the day.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned program. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of children, youth, and families are met. Ensures that program standards, guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all licensing requirements are met.
  • Assists with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, and orientation.
  • Authority for the day-to-day direction, performance feedback of program staff and volunteers. Addresses staff workplace issues and assists in resolving workplace disputes.
  • Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming. Works closely with the Manager on program development, procedures, and evaluations.
  • Manages program budgets.
  • Ensures effective communication with staff and families.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) years recent related experience including one-year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience and/or Diploma in a related human/ social service field.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain within three months
  • Class 4 Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain
  • Successfully completion of the Agency screening process, including criminal record check
Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00am-6:00pm

Wage

$25.43 per hour and cost-shared benefits, vacation and sick time
