Job description
What will you do?

The Digital Power Application Center’s Team is expanding, and we are seeking a Power Application Engineering Specialist to help meet our customers’ expectations regarding their Power Management Systems. You will provide technical solutions for proposals, serve as the primary interface with customers at on‑site locations, and be involved in all project phases—configuration, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Tests, customer training, and post‑sale support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and implement Energy Monitoring and Control solutions.
  • Commission and start‑up of energy meters, gateways, and Energy Servers.
  • Deploy Energy Monitoring and SCADA systems and carry out upgrades.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and report work progress to all stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues on installed Power Monitoring/SCADA systems at customer sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance verifications on power meters, energy servers, HMI, network components, etc.
  • Support sales channels by promoting energy‑management solutions.
  • Provide technical training to customers.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, testing plans, and engineering deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of power‑system fundamentals.
  • Ability to integrate IEDs (meters, etc.) with LV and MV power equipment and other network devices using industrial protocols such as BACnet and Modbus RTU.
  • Team player who can work independently as needed.
  • Network troubleshooting skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Self‑motivated attitude – “I’ve got this.”
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Functional knowledge of English and French for collaboration with regional and international teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric products (Power Meters, ION technology).
  • Programming skills (Python, Visual Basic, C++, C#, etc.).
  • Experience with VMware.
  • Controls and PLC experience.
Compensation and Benefits

This full‑time position offers a total compensation range of CAD 64,000 – CAD 96,000 (for B.C. residents) plus short‑term incentive, depending on performance, expertise, and experience.
