Overview

We are looking to hire a Plant Operator / P&D Driver for our Daniels medical waste treatment facility in Moncton NB. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal Plant Operator is an individual who likes variety in their work and can think through practical problems.

P&D Driver part-time or full-time as this position will involve driving, delivering / picking up waste containers to and from customer site.

What will your job involve
  • Receiving and processing of the various waste streams.
  • Scans waste into Route Optics for proper record keeping purposes.
  • Maintains the boiler and the autoclave functions to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
  • Ensures that all waste is properly processed and/or stored in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures an adequate supply of clean reusable bins and totes are readily available for logistics purposes.
  • Washes and ensures quality control of all reusable bins and totes.
  • Competently performs pre-trip and post-trips inspections with the intent of identifying and communicating minor and major defects to the Transportation Supervisor and also completes daily driver log book using HOS application on mobile device.
  • Loads and unloads truck by placing and securing items in such a manner that prevents damage to the products and truck; regular lifting will be required.
  • Local and occasional out-of-town routes may require some overnights as well.
  • Ensuring all materials are properly packaged and orders are fully complete and in accordance with the packing slip prior to trip departure.
  • Deliver and collect products / waste containers in accordance with scheduled route and serves customers by understanding, resolving and/or forwarding customer questions.
  • Diligently completes Daniels commercial vehicle cleaning and disinfecting protocol on a daily basis.
  • Accurately records information on packing slip and manifest ensuring compliance with TDG Regulations.
  • Complies with all environmental & health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures housekeeping issues (e.g., spills, floor dry, debris not on floor) are addressed immediately.
  • Performs additional duties and assists in other areas of the plant operation as directed by Operations Supervisor.
What are we looking for
  • Someone with a can-do attitude who is committed to efficient timely scheduling and has previous experience in a labor-intensive job. A person with proven longevity with their employers that we can rely on.
  • Occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling weights of sixty pounds or more.
  • Class 5 License with air Brakes.
  • Minimum of 12 months verifiable related behind-the-wheel driving experience (within last 36 months).
  • Clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract (dated within last 30 days).
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements such as reference check, background check, pre-employment medical test and a driver’s road test or equivalent.
  • Ability and knowledge to safely load and properly block, brace and secure materials.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
