Job summary

Dynacare in Ontario is seeking a Laboratory Assistant Float to support patient care and specimen collection. This permanent full-time role involves venipuncture, data entry for Ministry of Health requisitions, and delivering a positive patient experience.

Day shifts, Monday to Friday, with a half-day Saturday rotation; on-site work at Kakulu Rd Kanata and surrounding communities. You will join a values-driven team, adhere to SOPs, maintain quality metrics, and grow with a company that fosters

Qualifications

Completion of Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistant course with phlebotomy training.
Customer-oriented with genuine care for patient health.
Demonstrate phlebotomy skill and calm handling of anxious patients.
Ability to prioritize and manage within a deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in English, written and spoken, to communicate instructions clearly.

Responsibilities

Create an ideal, best-in-class patient experience and engage with patients regarding products and services.
Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using venipuncture per Dynacare’s mission and values.
Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath-alcohol collections.
Ensure documentation and specimens are completed per SOPs and ready for processing in the lab.
