Job summary

Dynacare seeks a Laboratory Assistant - FLOAT to obtain quality blood samples and other specimens, perform patient tests, and support a positive team environment. You will ensure proper handling of samples, data entry, and adherence to SOPs while delivering compassionate patient care.

The role is permanent, part-time (15 hours/week) with day shifts across multiple locations in ON, starting ASAP. A phlebotomy training background and MLPAO/CSMLS certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Laboratory Assistant training.
• Customer-focused with genuine care for patient health.
• Skilled in phlebotomy and calming anxious patients.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience with our products and services.
• Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens using venipuncture per Dynacare’s standards.
• Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections.
• Ensure specimens and documentation are complete per SOPs and ready for data entry and transport to the lab.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to quality metrics and regulatory compliance.

Secondary School + Laboratory Assistant training program / Medical Lab Assistant course with phlebotomy training
