Job summary

Dynacare in Kelowna is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for LHSC to process blood samples, enter requisitions accurately, and deliver excellent patient care. The role involves venipuncture, data entry, and ensuring specimens meet SOPs while maintaining confidentiality.

You must be CSMLS/BCSLS certified (or MLA program-credited) and bring 1+ year patient-facing phlebotomy experience or related degree. This onsite position offers varied hours and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• CSMLS/BCSLS certification or MLA program accreditation.
• Bachelor degree in a related scientific discipline or nursing may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience and engage with patients about products and services.
• Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens using venipuncture techniques.
• Sort and steer specimens and perform ECGs.
• Ensure documentation and specimens are ready for data entry and transport to the lab per SOPs.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to quality metrics and regulatory compliance.
