Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Float to obtain quality blood samples and perform patient tests in a supportive, patient-focused environment. The role emphasizes empathy, care, and teamwork to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Secondary School and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
• Customer-focused with a genuine care for patient health.
• Strong phlebotomy skills and ability to calm anxious patients.
• Detail oriented and accurate in handling samples and data.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience for our products and services.
• Enter patient and test data accurately for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and specimens using venipuncture techniques.
• Sort and steer specimens; perform ECGs, Holter Hookups, paternity, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections.
• Ensure specimens and documentation are complete per SOPs and ready for data entry and transport to the lab.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to quality metrics and regulatory compliance.
