What You'll Do:
  • Fill a variety of prescriptions efficiently to maintain workflow
  • Prepare compounds, mixtures and temperature control items
  • Package blister pack medications
  • Deliver completed product based on schedules
  • Ensure appropriate follow up on minor issues
  • Synchronization and collaboration with other departments
  • Ensure organization of work station and inventory shelves
  • Maintain appropriate supplies and materials
  • Some involvement in prescription information management
  • Recognize liability on the outcomes of service provided
  • Assisting Registered Pharmacy Technicians to correct medications strips and taking images of corrected pouches.
  • Double check medication identification number (DIN) before correcting any pouches i.e. inserting or removing medication from pouches.
  • Ensure all correction done in medication strips are checked by RPhT before it goes to shipping department.
  • Manual insertion of medication in pouches.
  • Labelling medications strips with pharmacy labels when asked by RPhT.
  • Print shipping reports using Kroll - pharmacy software.
  • Print facilities labels and attach to weekly boxes.
  • Organize medication strips in weekly box according to specific patient order.

Nice to have:
  • Exposure to Hospital or Long Term Care Pharmacy
  • Experience working in a retail pharmacy environment
  • Pharmacy Technician Diploma from accredited college, but not required
  • Good knowledge about medications is an asset

This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations, which include occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
