Job description

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (Homecare) of Brampton is looking for compassionate, caring, and reliable individuals to join our family. As a Caregiver/Personal Support Worker (PSW) you will support our client in Brampton by providing elder care. The work setting is within private residences. Successful candidates must speak Portuguese.

As an IHAL employee, you will make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families through compassionate, client-focused care.

How you will spend your days:

1. Assistance with personal care, hygiene, and grooming (ADLs)
2. Light housekeeping (IADLs such as vacuuming, laundry, dishes, etc.)
3. Basic meal preparation
4. Medication reminders
5. Assisting clients with mobility, ambulation, and transfers
6. Providing companionship and emotional support
7. Responding to emergency situations
8. Completing daily shift reports to communicate with case managers

Success in this role:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or foreign-trained nurses, caregivers with life experience
• 2 years of healthcare experience preferred
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Strong documentation skills
• Ability to follow client care plans
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills

Compensation:

$20.00 per hour

Shifts:

• 8 hours per day
• Weekday days and evenings
• Weekends days and evenings
• Part-time and full-time options

PPE:

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. will supply all necessary PPE (masks, gloves, sanitizer, COVID test kits).
