Job summary

A recruitment agency in Toronto is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for managing hourly and salaried payroll through ADP Workforce Now. The ideal candidate holds a degree/diploma and has 1-2 years of high-volume payroll experience. Strong communication skills and knowledge of payroll remittances are essential. This role offers an hourly pay range of $33 - $37 and requires candidates to reside within the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years continuous automated and high-volume payroll experience.
  • Experience with processing remittances like WSIB, RSP, and garnishees.
  • Ability to perform year-end reconciliations including W-2, T4, EHT, WSIB.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the hourly and salaried payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Investigate and follow up on payroll discrepancies presented by employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee information with respect to ADP and General Ledger account coding.

About the Opportunity
  • Responsible for the hourly and salaried payroll using ADP Workforce Now
  • Processing all payroll changes
  • Adjust hours into ADP Workforce Now time and attendance system
  • Maintain employee attendance records and make note of potential and ongoing concerns
  • Track and report headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and other measurable required
  • Investigate and follow up on any payroll discrepancies presented by employees
  • Provide support to finance and post GLs
  • Maintain accurate employee information with respect to ADP, and General Ledger account coding
  • Process remittances such as WSIB, RSP and garnishees according to established schedules
  • Review all payroll deduction remittances on a monthly basis and follow up on any discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly insurance premium report
  • Perform year-end reconciliations including W-2, T4, EHT, WSIB
  • Administer the Union dues and submitting third party benefits invoices
About You
  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma program
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years continuous automated and high-volume payroll experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ADP Workforce Now time & attendance experience and UKG experience an asset
  • Advanced computer skills in word & spreadsheet programs
  • multi-jurisdictional US & Canada payroll experience
Pay Range

$33 - $37 / hour
