Description

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed and deadlines met. Keep the case on track and moving at all times
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as Petition packages with Disclosures, Request for Orders/motions, all aspects of discovery (propound and respond), all trial documents including briefs, witness and exhibit lists, and judgments, under the supervision of a lawyer
  • Communicate and work closely with Clients to gather information and documents, and to provide them with regular updates on their case
  • Be highly computer literate. We are a modern firm that does not use paper files except for trial binders.We use multiple computer programs/software, and need someone who is extremely comfortable learning and working with two or three monitors at a time
  • Skills and experience are vital, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important. We have a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional behavior that applies to Clients as well as Employees. High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals need not apply
  • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
  • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
  • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of family law service experience
  • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Talented communicator and writer
  • 3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
Compensation

$47,000 - $60,000 yearly plus bonuses
