Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Protection and Control Engineer to join our Western Canada team. You will work with P&C designers on large-scale electrical energy projects, evolving in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborating with experienced professionals on substations, hydroelectric power stations, and renewables across Canada.

Requirements include an electrical engineering degree, P.Eng eligibility, and 8+ years in P&C projects, with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering.
• Registered or eligible to register as a P.Eng in Canada.
• 8+ years of experience onProtection & Control projects.
• Knowledge of protection and control principles is mandatory.
• Experience in detailed P&C design for utilities in Canada.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Design and review protection and control drawings for substation and power systems.
• Approve project deliverables including detail drawings, diagrams and layouts.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and project managers across disciplines.
• Prepare plans, drawings and calculations from specifications.
• Develop electrical Command and Protection systems (diagrams, wiring, quotes).
• Supervise AC/DC station service power systems, including load calculations.
• Participate in site surveys and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Perform QA/QC of design packages and support commissioning.
