A healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a part-time Orthopaedic Technician to play a key role in providing quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include applying and adjusting casts, monitoring patient states, and ensuring effective care. Candidates must have completed an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program and an Orthopaedic Technician specialty program, along with BCLS certification. This role is based in Stony Plain with multiple shift patterns and offers a competitive salary range.
As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient's physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
