Job summary

  • Perform all general and special radiography procedures.

  • Maintain a general knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging services.

Required
  • Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging – Radiography.
  • Registration with OAMRS/CAMRT preferred, possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Initiative, organisational, and decision‑making skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload.
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
Duties
  • Performs all general and special radiography procedures according to the Standards of Practice.
  • Performs Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards.
  • Ensures adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Archives/retrieves data to/from PACS.
  • Reports equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager.
  • Instructs students during clinical rotation when required and participates in evaluating students’ progress.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new technologists.
  • Demonstrates willingness to provide the highest quality service appropriate to the position based on the concept and philosophy of continuous and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrates courteous behaviour through polite and respectful communication with all co‑workers and patients.
  • Participates in continuing education to increase professional growth and development.
  • Maintains general working knowledge of the provision of Diagnostic Imaging services – policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Assigned duties in CT.
Physical Demands Analysis

Strength – Required frequently: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling.

Mobility – Required frequently: standing, walking on hard surfaces. Required occasionally: crouching, squatting. Required frequently: bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching.

Dexterity – Required frequently: handling objects, gripping, fine finger movement; movement of neck, elbow, shoulder and wrist; reaching.
