Hatch is seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT), New Graduate to join our Winnipeg team and contribute to innovative projects across the globe. You’ll collaborate with industry experts and gain hands-on experience in both office and field environments.

The Mechanical group is comprised of a group of professional engineers, designers and technologists. We are looking for a new or recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our group that is eager to be involved in complex small and large-scale hydromechanical, mining and other industrial type projects, who can demonstrate their keen problem-solving skills in developing practical solutions.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Apply engineering principles to design and analyze mechanical and piping systems for industrial applications
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver project solutions
  • Prepare equipment specification packages and construction work packages for local and global projects
  • Gain expertise in mechanical equipment, piping systems, analytical tools, and industrial processes
  • Participate in office and site safety training and inductions to support office and site activities
  • Perform field verification and provide field support during construction
  • Be open to travel and work at other Hatch offices or project sites, including remote locations

You bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (recent graduate or graduating by 2026)
  • Strong academic performance and active involvement in extracurricular or community activities
  • Previous co-op, internship, or summer work experience in mechanical engineering is an asset
  • Familiarity with tools such as AFT Fathom, Ansys, Sidewinder, MathCAD, or Bentley MicroStation is an advantage
