A healthcare service provider is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker II to perform preventive and demand maintenance activities within their facilities. The role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building systems, performing various repairs, and conducting general maintenance tasks. Candidates should have a Grade 12 diploma, a valid driver's license, and relevant experience in maintenance. This is a full-time position based in Claresholm, Alberta, offering a competitive salary ranging from $27.00 to $29.47 per hour.
As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence. Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.
Grade 12 High School diploma supplemented by a minimum two-month technical training program (i.e. Carpentry, mechanical, electrical or 5th Class Power Engineer certificate). Candidates must have 2-3 years of snow removal, groundskeeping and/or equipment operating experience. Candidate must also be familiar with a variety of architectural, electrical and mechanical tools, systems and equipment used in the maintenance program. Must be able to communicate clearly in English; both verbally and written. Incumbent will be familiar with established safety rules, regulations and procedures and able to work with minimum supervision. Candidate must also be cooperative and demonstrate a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Successful candidate must be capable of lifting up to 23kg (50lbs), also kneeling, squatting or bending for prolonged periods of time. Candidate must also be comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and outdoors for duration of shift.
