Job summary

UniFirst Canada seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot industrial equipment both indoors and outdoors, including boilers, washers, and pneumatic systems. The role offers on‑the‑job training and a Monday‑Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 6 months’ work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required.
• Two-year technical degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools for repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and manufacturer instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring and testing devices.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing and adjust chemicals as required.
• Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and address repairs as needed.
• Record utility readings and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters and perform maintenance per procedures.
• Operate a CMMS for repair and preventive maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency alarms and assist others with repairs.
