UniFirst Canada is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in indoor and outdoor facilities, with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-the-job training.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 5th Class Power Engineer
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license required
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment
• Minimum 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment (military experience considered)
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Lockout/Tagout experience required
• Welding experience (MIG/TIG/ARC) preferred
• Experience with formal safety programs preferred
• CMMS experience preferred
• HVAC and boiler knowledge preferred
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Mansioni

• Use hand/power tools (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches) and precision instruments for maintenance.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and support systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems with measurement and testing tools.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment, record results, adjust chemicals.
• Perform boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Execute Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space procedures.
• Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters, lubricate parts.
• Operate CMMS for maintenance tasks.
• Respond to emergency alarms and assist team.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
