Job summary

UniFirst Canada is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in indoor and outdoor settings, including boilers, pneumatic systems, and conveyors.

The role features a Monday–Friday schedule with on-the-job training and growth opportunities. You will work with hand/power tools, read blueprints, and perform safety checks while following CMMS guidance and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5th Class Power Engineer.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Experience with maintenance of industrial equipment in production settings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain industrial equipment including boilers and conveyors.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specs for repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision tools and CMMS.
• Perform daily safety checks and necessary repairs.
• Record meter readings and take corrective action as needed.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and assist team with repairs.
