Job Summary

As the Gym Maintenance Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of our fitness facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass supervising maintenance staff, overseeing the upkeep of exercise equipment, managing minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and maintenance schedules, and ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for our members. Your dedication to keeping the gym in top condition will be essential for our members' positive experience and overall satisfaction. Reports to Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Staff Management:
    • Supervise and train maintenance personnel.
    • Create work schedules and manage staff assignments.
    • Provide guidance and support to the maintenance team.
  2. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Regularly inspect and maintain exercise machines and equipment.
    • Coordinate repairs and maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
    • Develop and maintain equipment maintenance schedules.
  3. Facility Upkeep:
    • Oversee overall building maintenance of the gym.
    • Ensure the facility is clean, organized and well-maintained.
    • Address any facility-related issues promptly.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to protect staff and members.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance.
    • Implement emergency procedures and drills as necessary.
  5. Vendor Relationships:
    • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors for equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities management role, preferably in a gym or fitness center.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
  • Strong knowledge of fitness equipment maintenance and safety standards.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Budget management and cost‑control skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Education

A high school diploma is required, and a relevant degree or certification in facilities management or a related field is a plus.
