The Opportunity

In this role you will be able to set up, calibrate, and operate metal fabrication machines (Laser, Turret, Punches, Brakes and Shears), CNC machines, and/or roll forming equipment.

The Team

You will work independently to complete projects in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines that are CNC controlled, as well as Presses, Brakes, Shears and Saws
  • Measure and examine a sample of the machine product before making a full production run
  • Check machine operation and report faults to their supervisor
  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on machines
  • Read and understand blueprints, specifications and drawings
  • Set machinery up to operate within precise parameters
  • Communicate with maintenance or engineering personnel regarding setup of equipment and technical issues.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work safely
  • Completion of grade 12 or GED
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Must be comfortable using a computer
  • Exemplary attendance record
  • Must enjoy practical work and technical activities, and possess a mechanical aptitude
  • Prior experience operating a CNC machine in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Must have strong work ethic, good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
