A regional school board in Ontario is seeking an LTO Educational Assistant Level D for 10 hours per week in Floradale. The role involves supporting special needs students and requires a specific educational background, including relevant diplomas and certifications. Experience with children with special needs and a valid first aid certificate are preferred. The position is part of a commitment to equity, aiming to ensure diverse representation within the school community.
This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as external applicants. Staff already in an LTO are not eligible to apply to this posting if it will conflict with their current LTO. All Long Term Occasional assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2‑weeks notice. Interview will be conducted via Interviewstream. This is a one‑way video interview platform where your responses to interview questions are recorded in a time and space that is convenient for you (within a set window of time). You will receive an invitation from the Waterloo Region District School Board (noreply@rivs.com). If invited for an interview and this is your first time taking a video interview, you should click on the "What Can I Expect" button in the email to access interview best practices, Candidate Experience Guide, or take a practice interview. A link to complete the interview will expire at a set date and time; failure to complete by the expiry date will mean you will decline the opportunity. You may complete your interview on a PC, Mac, or the mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. Video recordings will begin automatically after the preparation window or you can choose to begin sooner. Responses can be up to five minutes in length for each question.

All employees working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent check and to complete an annual offence declaration through the WRDSB staff portal. Additionally, employees working in before and after school programs must obtain a VSC, submit original electronic copy for review, and maintain a valid first aid and CPR certificate or update training annually.
