A healthcare provider in Northern BC is seeking an LPN Coordinator to supervise nursing staff and provide care in Fort Nelson. The ideal candidate will have two years of related experience and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Within the context of a client and family centered model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Northern Health, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff. Reporting to the Manager or designate, in alignment with the creation of a vibrant community and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the LPN Coordinator is responsible for providing first line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff and providing nursing care to an assigned group of residents/patients/clients according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The LPN Coordinator coordinates the work of the LPN and unregulated care staff on the unit(s) including making and adjusting work assignments, providing work direction, scheduling staff, monitoring and following up on the work of staff to ensure outcomes of care are achieved and ongoing evaluation of staff work.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:30
Fort Nelson is located in the northernmost reaches of the Rocky Mountains, has magnificent scenery and landscapes. The main industries are forestry, natural gas, transportation and tourism. The population is approximately 3,370. There are now three elementary schools and one secondary school. Fort Nelson is a charming and friendly community with genuine personality. The importance of the Alaska Highway is immediately evident and the town itself is built around the highway, with the museum, gas stations, shopping, restaurants, accommodations and services spread along its route.
